Lush
This sums up our weekend of attending school fundraisers. They bring on the drinks to get you to open your wallet a bit wider. All it does is make me think I'm 22 again and bust out dance moves in front of a bunch of folks I don't know. Smooth.
The catholic school fundraisers are the best/worst. Jello shots. Seriously. They'll do anything for the kids!
All I know is I went home at midnight to relieve the babysitter and Chris texted me about 1am saying he was at the lesbian karaoke bar. Say what?
Yes, he was with the same group of enablers who were part of the "we ended up doing shots and eating chicken soup at the Colombian's house". Anyone who knows Chris knows how out of character and hilarious this is.
*No, we did not let Peri drink beer. Jeesh. Dairy Queen? Maybe a little.

Wet bed
And just like that, Nick’s bed wetting has disappeared. Bribery didn’t work (maybe a little), nighttime pull ups just made it easier ("Hey Mom, look, they work!) Not sure what clicked, but he’s back on track. Maybe he realized baby doesn't really get all the attention?
Or maybe he realized peeing in the bed totally sucks? Whatever it is, it bought him any toy he wanted from Target for going a week without peeing in bed! Bakugan Dragon it is!

Jokes
Nick thinks he's a comedian. He decided on hour 5 of our road trip to MN to tell jokes. His favorite is "Knock Knock. Who's there. Banana. Banana who? Knock Knock. Who's there? Banana. Banana who?...Orange. Orange who? Orange you glad I didn't say banana?" Except he doesn't quiet realize why it's funny. So he will sometimes say apple instead of orange. He had us in tears as he kept messing up joke after joke.
Grammy watched the kids last night and spent the night rather than driving home late. We could hear Nick in there telling her jokes this morning. He was rocking the banana joke until the end. "Apple you glad I didn't say banana?!" Chris and I laughed and groaned at the same time.
"What do you call at witch at the beach? A sandwich!" Ha ha! He nailed this one except for when Grammy laughed and said "Ha - a sandwich" and Nick said "No! A SAND WITCH". Sigh. The nuances of jokes.

Road Trip
Once Nick came along, we became frequent fliers and ditched our usual love of road tripping. Just figured flying was faster. And we weren't sure if 6-8 hours in a car seat was torture (for kids or parents).Well, C got a new car and decided after five yrs, we were ready! Our niece and nephew were celebrating their first communion in Minneapolis, so we decided to brave the 400 miles and drive. Grammy and PJ were driving up on Thursday and offered to take Nick so that he could have more time with his cousins. Nice! Notice - they took the 3 foot chocolate Easter bunny with them!
They left early Thursday morning. Sat in traffic until they got near O'Hare and Nick asked "Are we almost there?" Grammy gently explained they'd only gone eight miles. About an hour past O'Hare Nick asked "When are we going to get to the airport?" Turns out he thought they were flying. Ooops. 385 miles to go!Chris and I popped Peri into the car Friday night at 7pm and headed out. Bedtime is 7:15, so she was out while we talked for 3 hours straight. The most uninterrupted time we've spent talking in five years! Stopped at a hotel with a pool and wished Nick was with us. Slept with Peri in a huge king sized bed and kept worrying she was going to get lost in it or behind it. Then woke up the next morning for 3 more hours in the car. Peri once again slept the entire time.
Sunday afternoon found us back in the car for 6 hours straight and two kids. Turns out they are both rockstars on road trips. North Carolina - here we come!

Window
Story by Nick -
"When I came out after school, I was in Daddy's car and I rolled the window down and said "Hello People!" and then I started saying "I want ice cream! I want ice cream" and then I said "People help me! People help me!" And then I started saying "People people, you can't get me!"
That must have been an interesting ride in the parking garage for Chris.

Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny came for a visit!
And brought some pretty spring flowers.
Apparently the bunny and flower weren't as amused at these photos as we were.
Not shown here. Me wearing the flower headband and reenacting a flower growing up from the ground for Nick. His reply? "What are you so happy?" Jeesh.
